Deepika Padukone On Live-In With Ranveer Singh Before Marriage: ‘If We Had Started Living Together Earlier, What Would We Be Discovering Later On?’
Deepika Padukone reveals that she and Ranveer Singh didn’t opt for a live-in relationship before marriage because then, there wouldn’t have been anything left to discover!
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are among the most admired, celebrated and fashionable couples of Bollywood. Before walking down the aisle, Deepika and Ranveer were into a relationship for six long years that first blossomed on the sets of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela; however, they had never really acknowledged it publicly. Now, during her recent interview, the Bajirao Mastani actress was asked why the couple didn’t go for a live-in relationship before tying the knot, to which she had a very sensible response. Deepika stated how if she and Ranveer would have gotten into a living, they wouldn’t have had anything left to discover about each other. She added that the couple’s life post marriage has been all about living together and discovering each other. “I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it,” she said.
In the past, Deepika was also quizzed about her plans of embracing parenthood with hubby Ranveer Singh. To which, the actress revealed that they have no such plans of having a baby because both her and Ranveer are ‘too selfishly focused on their careers’. In fact, they are not even thinking of having a baby at this point. On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, a film based on the life of an acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. She also has Kabir Khan’s sports drama 83, which will have her essaying the role of Kapil Dev’s wife, while Ranveer Singh will be playing the former skipper.
